after a long hiatus, things are finally back to normal around here. i'm actually sad to see the whirlwind of the last couple of months go, but it also means i can spend some more time in my kitchen and catch up on some reading.
but first, a confession to clear my conscious. not only did i neglect my blogging for the last 2 months, i also neglected to eat anything that didn't have sugar or butter as the second first ingredient. with the exception of my trip to korea and a brief trip back home to celebrate christmas, i've been living off of cookies, bagels, chocolates, and holiday party finger food for the past 2 months. and there's a reason i listed cookies first. it's because i probably had 5 of them a day. the only reason i didn't gain a tremendous amount of weight is because i failed to eat any meals and would just nibble on a cookie for breakfast or pop a couple of chocolates while working through lunch. so today when i actually went to the store and bought fresh fruit and vegetables, i felt as if i had just run 5 miles.
some pictures to prove that the past is in the past:
chicken breast with olive oil, lemon zest, and oregano
roasted brussel sprouts
roasted red and yukon gold potatoes
and a few pictures to give you an idea of where i've been and what i've been doing for the last couple of months:
mom and i ready to head to the motherland!
korean air has pretty good food
korea, where kimchi abounds (even during a supposed kimchi shortage)
my first christmas tree! (please try to ignore the "tree skirt"... i'll get one next year)
evil! i've gotten over you...
is that...santa?...chicken fighting?
may 2011 be filled with even more great food and book finds and chances to share them with your loved ones... let the good times roll!
